N Scale ALCo C636 Locomotive
CESM is offering a highly detailed kit of the unique Alco C636 locomotive in N scale. Pre-orders will begin soon.
The ALCo C636 was the builder's largest single engine diesel-electric locomotive. Built in the final years of the dwindling company, only one example survives today, in operating condition on the Delaware and Lackawanna Railroad. All C636 models rode on ALCo's 3-axle hi-adhesion trucks. The C636 was also exported to Australia for the Pilbara railroads. A list of US operators of the C636 is in the Additional Info section below.
*C636 completed model and CAD render shown, M636 models will have modified doors and will include Dofasco trucks. And they won't be painted in SP&S*
MLW in Canada produced a very similar version of the C636 for canadian railways, known as the M636. This unit was outfitted with Dofasco trucks and had some different grille and door details. A number of M636 locomotives were built in Australia for railroads there. While CESM does not have the CAD done for this model, please contact us if you are interested in getting one or more made - there are many variations running. We already have CAD done for a Pilbara cab as well, so that is also a possibility.
